I've spoken to the relevant team and they say it shouldn't take long to do- but they are busy so it might be a week or so before they can start.
Up to you whether you want to go ahead with a custom solution in the meantime.

Hi Matt Jones are there any plans to implement this soon? Or should I investigate splitting full name in mailchimp?
