Can we add a feature to make a Product Attribute "required?"

This would help immensely with simplifying Detail layouts when needing to validate the existence of Product Attribute selections. That other system (BC) placed a "mandatory='1'" tag on the attribute and then handled the basic "required" validation automatically.
