eCommerce - pre-fill pages SEO data on type

By default it would be usefull to prefill the Product SEO Page Title and Meta Description field with Item name and Description values. 9 times out of ten it will be the same data and will avoid a lot of data double entry.

I agree on Item Name. However, Description is a WYSIWYG editor, so can't be used for Meta Description.

      Matt Walter:
      Matt,
      Couldn't you just do something like: {%- assign SEOdescription = {{Description | striphtml | stripnewlines | truncate:160}} -%} ?
In fact, here's what I'd love to see…
eCommerce Settings includes a new button/switch to "auto-populate" the SEO/OG titles and descriptions. It's a single setting (default:on) that ensures a comprehensive, yet basic (programmatic) eCommerce SEO implementation with the minimum amount of input required to get going. Just fill out the product name and description and your basic SEO setup is complete. If you turn off the "automatic-SEO" switch, you can then edit all of the pre-populated text manually using it as a simple starting place for your further custom SEO work.
In addition, I would suggest that the product image be automatically used as the OG image. In fact, you could offer two "sister" default settings for the OG and Twitter types, too! - they're typically the same across across products anyway.
My two cents, but I think this would provide a lot of value to agencies and end users alike.
