File Manager - Enhanced controls
- The ability to move files around from one folder to another.
- The ability to rename files.
- The ability to multi-select files and choose to move or delete all that are selected
- Full access to files and folders under /assets
- Ability to optimise image sizes on upload to file manager

Here's an idea from Khy Tran which might be relevant to this:
"Say you have 2 image fields in your WebApp.
When you go to your item and select an image for the first field (lets say its in a folder), after you've selected the image.
When you go to select your second image, the file manager opens up, but it automatically navigates you back to the root, so you have to click the folder again
It doesn't remember where you last were in the File manager - not a glitch, but this improvement would be good to have
Also, if you're on the 2nd page of images within a folder, when you go to select another image again. it brings you back to the 2nd page, but you're on the 2nd page of the root, not the folder you were in:

We are currently working all of the above, apart from the optimizing images on upload.
That will come at a later stage and for now will have to be done before uploading assets to the File Manager.
