Support seo_searchable: false on HTML version of auto sitemap
Currently supported on XML not HTML. Expected behaviour skips pages with seo_searchable set to false.
Siteglide Github Backup - Site copies initial commit
Site copies on Siteglide get a tracked git history of changes like any site, but they do not seem to get an “initial commit” of the state of the site when the copy finishes. This would potentially make the backup more useful.
Site Search - One set of fields for pages and webapps
Currently site search results need different fields to output say meta_desc for webapps then they do for pages. Let’s give an alternative mapping which means same syntax for both types of results for newer sites, also preserving the backwards compatible existing fields.
eCommerce - default payment gateway toggle
Previously you would only have one payment gateway “enabled” at a time, but now you can have more than one payment gateway enabled at once, so long as you add an ID parameter within the form layout to the eCommerce field include. But it can be tricky to migrate a setup which has only one payment gateway enabled to 2 in order to set up a test mode for developers while the site is live. When two payment gateways are enabled at once, before ID parameter is passed in, it’s not easy to tell which will be used be default. Adding a true default option to payment gateways could solve this, to use the production one by default in most cases, but allow devs to test with sandbox when needed.
Create and Delete Sites programatically
Ability to create and delete sites programatically. Example use case as part of a CI/CD flow for automated testing.
File Manager Improvements
The File manager could use an update to be in line with the modern experience of similar tools customers are touching every day. This is important, because whether using Core Siteglide or Studio, you’re asking the customer to interact with File Manager. Suggested improvements: 1) Progress indicator - you can’t currently see anything other than the spinner, and it would be good to be able to see how far along an upload is. 2) Clear labeling of limits - if I can’t upload a certain size, let me know 3) Studio picker - let me define the folder that I should see once I click the picker, vs making the customer navigate to it 4) Navigation - Once I upload a file, it’s in there, but I have to search for it to find it and select it. Pages custom fields - Option to add global custom field structure
It’s useful to be able to define custom fields on each page, but for some functionality it is useful to be able to set the structure once and have the field appear on all current and future pages.
Admin - Datasource Field Options - Alphabetical
Can these options be sorted alphabetically, with module or webapp placed at the end of the label, so the name of the table comes first?
eCommerce - enforce backend validation to prevent purchasing out of stock items
To cover the case of when an item was added to the basket when it was in stock and it becoming out of stock before the checkout stage.
Forms - Custom Success Function - Return the ID of the newly created case as an argument
This is useful for JS call-backs which might need to create follow-up items.
Allow option in include webapp/modules tag to skip total_entries
For better performance, when it’s not required to know the total_entries for features. E.g. in a form with a datasource field, it’s not required to count the number of options and would be faster to skip that calculation.
Add flags to siteglide_head to skip processes for custom work
E.g. allow to skip the SEO partial, for custom SEO.
Auto-Sitemap, support for Subscription Products
The auto Sitemap currently supports eCommerce product detail pages, but not yet eCommerce subscription product detail pages.
Auto-Sitemap - add layout option to include custom content which is not yet supported by the auto-sitemap itself
While you can edit the page that the custom sitemap is included on, since the sitemap generates the XML boilerplate, any custom content is difficult to hoist inside of that- and ends up outside the root of the XML document. We should add an option for inserting custom links into the end of the sitemap after the auto-generated content.
Disabled Category Detail Page 404 styling
When category detail pages are disabled, and somebody visits the link they would use if they were enabled, the 404 page (actually the 404 partial) has no Page Template so is not styled properly. We should either use the site’s default template here or redirect to the 404 page if the root category’s detail page is disabled.
SEO Defaults
It would be good if the SEO Title could use the page or item name if the SEO Title field was empty.
When updating CRM user's email optionally allow form case emails to be updated.
If a website visitor uses an incorrect email in a form submission a new entry is created in Users & a form case created & attached to this new user. Agency/client can update the CRM user but the form case still has the incorrect email (unless fixed via an import). Would be great to have functionality added to CRM to allow all form cases with incorrect email to also be updated to the new email. Use Cases: This allows for ecommerce invoices with incorrect email to be fixed & invoice/receipt to be resent easily to purchaser. Member/ecommerce websites frequently have this issue where a member accidentally uses one of their other emails to purchase/submit a form outside of the secure zone. The transaction is then not in their list of purchases/form submissions.
